For 18 years we lived on the magical island of Borneo and the beautiful island of Penang. It was indeed a privilege to live in such a beautiful country with such beautiful people! During those years, we were volunteers with SIL International and served the language communities of Malaysia as they build capacity for their own sustainable language development. SIL does this primarily through research, translation, training and materials development. You can read more about us and our vision in Combrink Chronicles.

At the end of 2016 we moved back to South Africa. Hans continues to serve in the ministry of Bible translation with Biblica, the International Bible Society.
